In this video clip, I am going to talk about two types of leadership. One is what I call
as divine leadership and other is human leadership. What I mean by divine leadership is you are
born with the ability to command respect. You may not be all that great, you may not
be all that intelligent, you may not be all that smart but people will come around you,
you will attract them, you will be like a magnet and they would come to you just like
pieces of iron and hang out with you. This is because you have that magnetic personality
built already within you perhaps in the unconscious so you naturally attract people; they don’t
want to leave you even if you want to send them out, can I sit in the lounge or hang
out somewhere next door so that I can be available to you. Politicians are like that. Sports
celebrities or Hollywood celebrities are like that. People want to be around them, hang
out with them. Yesterday I saw a news item on the local newspaper that people want to
live in the same street that a movie star, a super star lives there and it is going to
cost them a fortune to rent an apartment in the street where this movie star is living.
Why are they like that and why people are going behind Hilary Clinton or Obama crying?
What’s there? And these are the people who make them president and they have done this
for bush, for anyone who becomes President. So divinely they have come with the ability
to attract people; this is what I call as divine leadership or something that I can
think about here close to this concept is the divine right theory. It’s much different
from that but close to the concept. Hey, I am the leader and you are my follower. So
you got to do that. You have no choice because I have the divine right to be your leader
and you have to follow me and you will follow me regardless, this is one thing. The other
thing that I mentioned was human leadership in which case you have to build through strategy
your leadership qualities and also work very very hard to get a few people around you.
This is a tough job; it needs time to build a bunch of followers, not only that it needs
some money. You have to spend some entertaining these people. You have to have dinners, picnics,
all these kinds of things in order to attract these people, so this way of building leadership
through human effort is a little hard but people do that all the time. Between the two,
the former is definitely the easiest. How they got it? It’s not in this lifetime but
it was a continuation from another lifetime. They work on this constantly. I remember certain
rituals done by politicians and also business people, celebrities etc. They go to Ganesha,
the elephant headed God or some other Gods and then keep praying to them and one of the
prayers is SARVA JANAME VASAMANAYA SWAHA. Keep repeating this. What it means is; it’s
a Sanskrit mantra which says that all the people should be attracted towards me, all
the people should be attracted towards me, all the people should be attracted towards
me, and all the people should be attracted towards me. I pray to you God all the people
should be attracted to me. When you go on saying that then you build in the attraction
energy within you. Then you will attract people. This is spiritual practice here in India to
attract people. The Yogis practice it and the others as well practice this technique.
