What’s up? Matt Guf for The House Snowboard Shop. This is the Burton Freemont Jacket.
It’s part of the Team Fit Series. It’s actually quite large and quite relaxed. There’s
two layers of material or two inches of materials added to the length of this jacket and one
inch of material added to the length of the sleeves. It’s definitely a nice thing if
you’re a tall guy or big guy or like [to sag your pants] a lot. The Freemont Jacket
is also part of the Dry Ride Two Layer Durashell Technology Series. Number 1 being the abrasion-resistant
fabric that’s on the outside. Underneath that is the waterproof and breathable membrane.
There’s 10,000 millimeters of waterproof material and 10,000 millimeters of breathable
material. Now, if you slide a lot when you ride, if you hike a lot and you get really,
really warm cause you wear just too many layers, make sure you get a breathable jacket. This
is a very breathable jacket and definitely one of my top picks for the Burton Line. Now,
the jacket has a lot of great features. Of course, being the contoured shaped hood that’s
fully adjustable. It doesn’t matter if you have a big head, small head, you wear a helmet,
you wear a beanie, or nothing at all, this hood is going to fit over the top of your
head. There’s adjustable cuff closures, of course, pit zips for when you get too warm,
and lots of pockets actually. There’s two chest pockets and two belly pockets. On the
inside of the belly pockets, there’s fleece lining and you can keep your hands warm, an
adjustable elastic closure as well. There’s a keyring on the inside of one of them, which
is definitely a good idea if you ride. Make sure you close your pockets, attach your keys
to this thing so you can drive home. Now, a lot of jackets out there have storm flaps,
and there’s one bad thing about storm flaps: most storm flaps kind of close like this.
They’re attached at the left side of the jacket and close like this. That’s great
if you’re a regular footer rider riding this direction, but if you’re a goofy footer
rider or riding switch, the storm flap just opens up. This jacket actually doesn’t have
a storm flap, so it’s both goofy and regular friendly. Now on the inside of this jacket
you’ll find some amazing fleece lining or satin lining. That’s right. Look at how
sexy that is. That’s nice and soft. You don’t have to wear a shirt with it. There’s
40 grams of Thermacore throughout this jacket. The majority of the Thermacore is actually
going to be in the chest and the back area to keep your core nice and warm. Of course,
there’s going to be fully taped seams as well. Again, this is a very waterproof and
breathable jacket and you want to have fully taped seams. If you guys don’t know what
fully taped seams or what taped seams are, it’s actually a nice backing where all the
stitching is in your jacket. Now, if you were to zoom in, you’d see thousands of microscopic
little holes from the threads being tied together and the panels of the jacket being tied together
and woven together. Now, those thousands of little holes are actually doorways for the
elements to get inside your jacket. You can have a [gortex] jacket, but if you don’t
have fully taped seams on that jacket, it’s not going to be waterproof or water-resistant.
With these fully taped seams all over this jacket on every seam, you’re going to have
that reassurance of being very, very dry. There’s going to be media pocket on the
inside of the jacket as well. If you ride with headphones or whatever, you can definitely
put whatever you like on the inside. There is a nice little headphone slot here, so you
can have your wires on the inside of your jacket instead of outside of your jacket.
Again, this is a great-fitting jacket, of course, and it has one of my other favorite
features. This jacket has a lot of my favorite features. One of them being actually the powder
skirt, and the powder skirt works well and fits with Burton Snowboard Pants. You can
actually attach both of them together. They have a nice tight seal against wind, rain,
snow, or when you fall, you get slush up your back; that always sucks. But if you don’t
have Burton Snowboard Pants, that’s OK because you can still close the [waist gater] just
like this and open it, and, of course, you can take it all the way out if you don’t
want to ride with it. And, of course, there’s going to be that pass pocket right there so
your pass isn’t hanging out all the way out of your jacket. Again, this is the Burton
Freemont Jacket. It’s part of the Team Fit Series—a little bit more relaxed, a little
bit larger. 10,000 millimeters of waterproof material, 10,000 millimeters of breathable
material, a lot of cool features, rad colors, fits good. Get some.
