Hello, children of Tamriel. Welcome to the School of Julianos.
Today's lesson will be about basic principles of entropic conversion.
The aim of this lesson is to help you understand what happens
when a powerful Necromancer sacrificies a good citizen of Tamriel
in the name of a Daedra Prince such as Molag Bal
Of course, this is merely intended as an intellectual exercise
as such an event is great and likely to happen
as such an event is quite unlikely to happen within the borders of our blessed Empire.
Firstly, we will briefly review the basic principles of
life and death to ensure that everybody in the class gets into the context.
Then we'll move on to the topic of conversion, and finally,
we'll answer a few questions of interest. Unit one:
The Basic principles of life and death. We, citizens of Tamriel,
belong to Mundus,
the Mortal Plane, which was created by the et'Ada, under both
Anuic and Padomaic influences. Without going further into theologic details
we will simply say for this lesson, that Tamriel is surounded by the Oblivion
which is doted with burning holes, commonly called "stars",
that let us see through tiny portions of the Aetherius beyond,
and it is somehow located in the middle of the Aurbis.
When a citizen of Tamriel is born,
Arkay grants them a soul coming from the Dreamsleeve,
which is the place where the souls are recylced. And when this fellow citizen of Tamriel dies,
their soul returns to the Dreamsleeve --though it may end up in another realm
depending on certain criteria: in example,
Nords who died in a brave fight may end up in Sovngarde.
Another exception is what happens when a Daedra gets in the way of a peaceful afterlife.
This is the fate of cursed souls who are plagued with vampirism
or lycanthropy, of course, but it can also happen to a poor innocent
who is sacrificed
in the name of a Daedra. This leads us to Unit two:
the Basic principles of entropic conversion.
Sacrifice is alike to a blade: it has two sides
and one edge. Sides represent opposite principles
of past and future, life and death, Tamriel and Oblivion,
while the edge is an agent of change, of conversion,
allowing to pass from one state to another.
From life to death, from Tamriel to Oblivion --often through the act of slicing a throat.
Sacrifice also requires a subject to sacrifice.
In this case, it will be a citizen of Tamriel, which we will refer to as
"entity". The entity is composed of a body
made of mortal flesh, and a soul, granted by Arkay.
When the sacrifice occurs,
the body's vital functions are severed in way to induce its death.
From this point, death has occured
and so we come to the Oblivion side of the sacrifice.
In our very specific example of a powerful Necromancer
sacrificing souls in the name of Molag Bal,
the sacrificed soul is sent to the realm of Coldharbour,
and becomes a Soul Shriven. As the name suggests, a spiritual operation has occured
to bind the soul to this Daedric realm, which is a corrupted version
of Tamriel. The shriving of the soul actually causes an inversion of
entropic principles of matter and energy.
Let's make this clear with a table: As you can see,
things are quite simple from this mathematical perspective.
Now, and still, purely as an intellectual exercise,
let's imagine what would happen if a Prophet
were to try and help a Soul Shriven to escape Coldharbour.
This hypothetic Prophet would be gifted with insane powers
in way to serve the purpose of our exercise,
and would summon a piece of Aetherius in Molag Bal's realm.
How exactly he does this, we leave to your fertile imagination.
Let's call this piece of Aetherius a "skyshard"
not that Aetherius has more connection with the sky than Oblivion,
but, the sky, being but another visual phenomenon caused by mortal mental stress,
is enough of an unlikely thing to fit with this unlikely concept of skyshard.
is enough of an unlikely thing to fit with this unlikely concept of skyshard.
The purpose of this skyshard, summoned by
our hypothetic Prophet, would be to serve as a new blade,
to create a new conversion, between Coldharbour
and Tamriel. However, as the Soul Shriven is
as the table shows; a soulless body,
if they were to be sacrificed and removed their body again,
they might just zero sum. This would be most unfortunate,
and not much help to our poor Soul Shriven.
This is why our hypothetic Prophet would rather operate a reversed conversion
with the power of the skyshard. Thanks to this equation, we managed to solve the
seemingly impossible operation
of turning a soul into a body, and then into a living being back again.
With the power of mathematics, everything can become logic.
Now, let's move on to Unit three: Answering
a few questions. You might wonder why
a powerful Necromancer would serve Molag Bal,
and why Molag Bal would allow an hypothetic Prophet
to summon a skyshard in his realm. Just to satisfy your curiosity,
let's examine this real quick.
Why would a powerful Necromancer serve Molag Bal?
Let's say our Necromancer isn't just any Necromancer, but THE Necromancer.
One with a name that everybody knows: Mannimarco.
Mannimarco, also known as the King of Worms, is an Altmer
who used to be one of the most gifted students among the Psijic Order
back in the early Second Era, before becoming a powerful lich who seeked
to ascend to godhood.
It is noteworthy that despite his power and royal title,
Mannimarco was more alike to a humble worm with a king's dignity.
Never embarrassing himself with extravagance, he was always seen dressed in casual robes,
Never embarrassing himself with extravagance, he was always seen dressed in casual robes,
even after becoming a mortal god. This reflects his awareness on the fact that
Necromancy has no meaning
out of the Mortal Plane. Mannimarco lusted for power
and divinity, but he didn't become the god
of Necromancy just to rule. It can be assumed that he also wished to keep on learning,
and has the worm's humility of being able to find
interest weaker creatures too.
Teaching the Black Arts to his apprentices helps him to learn as well.
Teaching the Black Arts to his apprentices helps him to learn as well.
But let's forget this all and come back to mathematics and logic.
If we ignore the part in which Black Arts, through the study of anatomy and biology,
can have very positive benefits for students
of the School of Restoration, we can briefly sum up
Necromancy as a gross worship of rot
and gore, enslaving souls, desecrating corpses
and getting in the way of Arkay. Now let's compare this to what
Molag Bal appreciates. If we turn this into an equation,
and simplify it... Here it is: Necromancy is what pleases Molag Bal.
We have now made a point that Molag Bal loves Necromancy.
If this is right, then, just like: 4 + 6 = 10
and 10 = 6 + 4, ...we can safely say that Necromancers love Molag Bal.
and 10 = 6 + 4, ...we can safely say that Necromancers love Molag Bal.
Hence, Mannimarco loves Molag Bal, and if he loves him,
why would he refuse to serve him?
Also, it is noteworthy that Molag Bal is a hot seducer,
as proven in the 36 Lessons of Vivec, Sermon 12.
Vivec looked on the King of *** and said:
'How very beautiful you are, that you do not join us.'
Now, as we are back to Molag Bal, let's answer the second question:
Why would Molag Bal allow an hypothetic Prophet
to summon a skyshard in his realm?
Fortunately this question is much more simple to explain than the previous one.
We have seen this calculation: This addition is true
in the case of a Soul Shriven in Coldharbour, but what would it be like
for a living entity on Tamriel?
If you look up to the table, the conversion is quite easy to perform:
If a skyshard can turn a soulless body into a living entity,
what does it do to an already living entity?
Let's see this as numbers. We can note that:
3 > 2. This means
that the skyshard makes our living entity into something
more than it was before. In fact,
the skyshard makes the entity more skilled
than it was before. Who wouldn't be interested in skills?
Skill is power, and Molag Bal likes power.
Hence, when our hypothetic Prophet summoned the skyshard,
the Prince was certainly hoping he could benefit from it,
being persuaded that the summoning and absorption
of a piece of Aetherius within his Daedric realm
would take a lot of time. This is why we specified that our hypothetic Prophet
was insanely powerful. We are now done with this lesson.
I hope you enjoyed this class and feel much brighter
and less confused now. May Julianos always guide you!
If some of you are still skeptical about the legitimacy of this class,
or if they think some of its content was insane
or absurd, we remind you that this was pure logic
and all based on accurate facts, and that:
Loremasters really do care about the lore
Elder Scrolls lore is quite flexible
And these are facts, because it is written, and it is a fact that is written.
Thank you for your attention, please exit the classroom with calm and silence.
