Hello my name is Luis Estrada and I am a software developer. In this video I'll show you how
to edit pictures. The first thing to consider before editing images is the software you
will use to do the job. Depending on the expertise level that you want to achieve at this, you
might consider choosing a free or an expensive but very professional software product. If
you intend to only make a few improvements for your personal photos to share them with
your family and friends or to have some fun at creating a few simple effects, a great
product for you could be the Picassa software by Google. This product is entirely free and
it's one of the easiest to use image editing applications. Use Picassa to make common improvements
to your pictures like fixing red eyes, cropping, adjusting colors, brightness, rotate the picture,
etcetera. Picassa also includes about a dozen nice effects like sepia, sharpen, film grain,
etcetera. One of the great features of Picassa is the possibility of easily creating posters,
collages, screen savers, and even small slide show movies with audio, transitions and zoom
effects. Once you finish your video you can upload it to youtube with a couple of clicks.
Also you can share entire picture albums on the web using your existing Google account.
On the other hand, if you intend to become a professional at image editing, the industry
standard by far is Photoshop CS3 by Adobe. This application contains an incredible amount
of tools for doing just about anything that you imagine. You can even edit video clips
with the new CS3 version. The other great thing about Photoshop is that the resulting
files can be exported to other popular design applications from Adobe like Flash, Premier,
Illustrator, Acrobat, After Effects, etcetera. Photoshop CS3 is a bit expensive it costs
six hundred and forty nine dollars but believe me when I tell you that it will save you countless
hours of difficult edits that you would need to do with cheaper image editors. The nice
thing about Photoshop is that you can download a free thirty day trial to try it before you
buy it. I'm Luis Estrada and I've just shown you how to edit your digital images.
