The London 2012 Paralympics took place last year...
...and it's now one year on from the Games.
I think the Paralympic Games really highlighted what disabled people could do.
People really focused on ability rather than their disability.
But you know, Paralympians only represent a small portion of the disabled community.
I get the feeling that the general public kind of assume they know about disability now...
...and that actually couldn't be further from the truth.
People, who saw me win three gold medals last year, would automatically think that I've got my life sorted...
...but I still struggle with finding carers and getting funding for them.
If I'm struggling, as a quite a high profile individual, what is it like for other people...
...who maybe don't have the same amount of support or confidence to get what they need?
I think the Paralympics were great in creating disabled role models...
...but there's more to disability than sport.
I think that if the media can create stories and other role models in other fields...
...that would be great for inspiring the disability community to go out there and achieve.
That's the key message from the Games:
To go out there and fulfil your potential in whatever you want to do.
