Today on this 2007 Lexus RX350 we are going to be installing Hidden Hitch part number
70778. This installation will also apply for Draw-Tite hitch part number 75153. We are
underneath the vehicle and we are taking a look at the driver side frame rail. We want
to locate the mounting holes that we are going to be using to attach our hitch to the vehicle.
The hitch is going to have three attaching points per side. We are going to be using
the two weld nuts at the rear of the frame which currently is holding a tow hook in position.
If you look a little bit further forward up on the frame rail you can see we have got
two rubber plugs in the frame. We need to remove both of those so the hitch can sit
flat against the frame rail. We are going to be using this forward weld nut as our third
attaching point. 00:40 The first thing we need to do is remove the
two bolts and lower the tow hook out of the way. The tow hook will not be reinstalled
once the hitch is back up in position. That will be the same on the passenger side as
well. With the tow hooks removed we can put the hitch up in position. Into each of the
weld nuts we are going to be using the new 10 millimeter bolts along with the conical
tooth washers. Now that we have got the hitch up into position and the fasteners into place
we just want to go back through and torque them down. You want to verify with the directions
the specific torque rating for each of the bolts. With our hitch installed we are going
to give you a couple of dimensions that will help make choosing your hitch accessories
easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure
14-7/ 8 inches and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper
is going to be approximately 1-1/ 2 inches. This will conclude the installation of Hidden
Hitch part number 70778 on a 2007 Lexus RX350.
