Hey everyone!
Today...Today is National Day in China.
Do you recognize where this place is?
Don't know? I'm at Tiananmen. Tiananmen Square.
Ooo! Yeah, haha!
Today Tiananmen is filled with people
because of course today is National Day.
There aren't any planned events today, but
everyone still enjoys coming here.
Probably because it is tradition. China has a very long history,
so of course they have many traditions.
Chinese National Day traditions
are somethings I'm not familiar with, so
I think I will interview a few people to find out what they like to do.
Hello. Today is National Day.
Why did you choose to come to Tiananmen today? "Because it's an exciting place to be.
I've been coming here already for 10 years.
Occasionally feel like
coming on the national holiday
to walk around. Its also beautiful today.
as well as lively and a happy place to be."
Do you come every year? "Not every year, but frequently."
Oh, very good! In your opinion,
Do you think coming to Tiananmen
is a Chinese tradition? Yes or no?
"In my opinion it probably is" Probably? Very good. Thank you!
I'm really glad I had an opportunity to come to Tiananmen
because I know the cultural significance of this place. Beijing is China's
cultural capital, so going to Tiananmen
made me feel like I experienced some of China's history.
Everyone agrees,
today Tiananmen was very lively and exciting
I absolutely agree with this.
The impression I got was that every one was very happy.
When you here "China", the first thing that comes to the mind of many Americans
is the food, but I think
if you come to Beijing
you will understand the culture much more. I chatted with an American guy.
Don't worry, we spoke Chinese. He told me he remembered
the Tiananmen Square Massacre, although he never thought he would ever come to Tiananmen himself.
My fall break was a lot of fun.
Although I stayed in Beijing I visited
several of the most famous sites.
Thanks everyone for watching my video!
Bye!
