Whats up San Diego; were here at the American Idol Summer 2009 tour.
And were here with Adam Lambert.
Whats it like for you before a big performance like this, do you get really nervous or jittery anymore?
No, you get use to it. I think it feels good.
I always anticipate the adrenaline that you get when you get on stage. It feels amazing.
Did you learn growing up?
D id they teach you how to do that when you were a kid or does it come natural?
I think after a while you just get use to it. I mean on the show, I use to get nervous.
Id get little butterflies. I mean, okay, here we go but you know,
in a way, if you learn how to harness that energy it can actually give you a lot of fire.
What has it been like for you after Idol, I know youve had a lot of media attention, been around the country, whats it like?
Its been insane. I didnt expect all this.
I went to Idol and thought, I just want to crack the top 10 so I can tour this summer and get some money, and get some more opportunities for myself.
It turned into that and so much more.
Does it get tiring answering all these questions all the time?
I mean, of course, it gets draining. Its a lot of work what we do.
You know, we go from city to city, we dont get a day off,
We did a show last night and the night before, but you know its working out.
This is what we all shoot for as performers.
If you could go back and just be a normal guy in L.A. trying to make it and go get a burger without people following you around, would you do it?
Yea, it'd be nice to have just a small window of time to be anonymous again, but I still wouldn't trade it.
This is what I've wanted for a really long time.
What do you do after the show? Are you all wound up or are you crashed out, ready to go to sleep?
I am usually pretty tired after the show, but I cant be, because we like to meet the fans after
nd do pictures and sign autographs and thats really important and so, if were tired, weve just got to suck it up
and go for it because everyone came out to support us and so its important for us to meet them.
Do you have a little bit more pressure being that this is San Diego and this is your hometown?
Maybe. Maybe a little bit.
Do you have a little bit more family and friends here at this show?
My family actually came to the Bay Area show, but Im sure Im going to have a lot of friends at the show, people Im sure that I havent seen in a long time. I hope.
Are you getting in touch with a lot of people you dont see a whole lot?
Here and there but Ive been having problems with my phone. I had this stalker-guy get my phone number
The Twitter guy?
Yea, he hacked into my Twitter, and my Gmail account...
So, its been really hard to keep in touch with people. I hope hes getting a lot out of it because it sure is annoying.
Why do you think people do stuff like that?
I dont know who he is. Maybe he just needs some attention, I think.
I dont know. Maybe he doesnt have a life. Maybe he needs to get one.
Adam, thank you so much. So great to see you.
Okay, have a good time tonight, are you going to see it?
Yea, Im going to be here. Were having a big party downtown after the Pride Parade.
I think I might be able to get you in, if you want to come.
We have to leave on the bus at midnight. Yea, we have no time to socialize. I have no social life anymore. Not for a while. For a couple months at least.
But well have to next time. Ill take you up on it.
