BETH BUSSE: This reason I nominated Allison is she was given a project --our online learning management
tool Speedway 2.5 --because of her hard work, her dedication
and her good communication skills, the project not only
got released on time, but was also a much better project
when it was released.
ALLISON KEMP: My name is Allison Kemp and I am an electronic publishing specialist at K-16.
We get a lot of content from writers the other electronic publishing
specialist in the office David Murphy and I work to put the content online.
Teachers want their content to look and work a certain way in our learning management system
which is called Speedway so we kind of have to work with them and work with each other
and Judy and Cindy to figure out what's the end goal
and then how can we make that happen given the tools that we have. And every
time we do something, we have to think about how is this going to work for migrant and how is
this going to work for a home schooled student and how will this work for a student in a
mortar and brick school building?
Our client base was growing and we didn't really have the resources that we needed in Speedway 2.4
to help them as much as they needed so we all had to work
together to figure out where are we going? And how is this going to be
more helpful to more clients as we get them?
I do have a favorite project that I've worked on and it is definitely the Speedway 2.5
migration. It's been the biggest challenge I've had
working here which is probably why I like it so much but it's so
complicated but it's been really interesting to think about the big picture
and at the time it was like the sky's the limit. Pick
what would be your perfect learning management system
and the perfect way to enroll students and the perfect way to get education content
out there and then start pulling back and figuring what we can actually
do. It was a lot of fun. I've had a lot of fun working on that.
BETH BUSSE: She just did a great job. She was a pleasure to work with and
Continuing Education is very lucky to have a dedicated employee
like Allison working for them.
