Elizabeth Hu: My favourite part of studying at a New South Wales government school was
the school curriculum itself.
I was able to choose from a large number of subjects
Before I came to Australia I studied in a high school in China
where we had to do all the subjects that the school offered
which meant we had no choices
When I first came here I was amazed by the number of subjects available to us.
I did three maths and three language (subjects) which was very exciting.
Although maths was challenging, I still found it quite interesting.
I'm planning to do the Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Sydney
Studying at a New South Wales government high school
Has allowed me to gain an ATAR high enough to get in my course
I was able to decide my career path
due to the subjects I took in years 11 and 12
and I was able to learn about the Australian way of study
For students who are coming to study here
it's a fun journey but with a lot of challenges
You should prepare yourself and make the most out of it.
