With us, on Live It Up!, is Mr. Food Test Kitchen. How are you?
I'm doing great. Good, and I know everybody's like hustle,
hustle, hustle here today. There's lots going on today, isn't there?
Meeting lots of old friends and meeting new ones as well.
Excellent, so tell us about your concept, tell us all the markets you're in and why
are you doing what you do? Well, we do what we do because we just love
food and we're nationally syndicated through CBS television distribution. We're on 125
TV markets throughout the country and we actually have a 1 and a half to two minute segment
that's on local news. So everyone feels that we are there local food person in that market
and we've been doing it for 30 years. So we are very proud to be doing it and continuing
it. Excellent and what makes you happiest when
you're talking about food? is there a certain piece of the information that you're giving
that really lights up? You know, we go after the "anybody can do
it" kind of attitude. We want people to cook dinner every night through the week, make
it simple and get smiles and we end every segment with "Ooh it's so good". So if the
recipe gives you that "Ooh it's so good", which is right here. If we can deliver that
then that's what it's all about. We're not looking for the fancy gourmet, we're looking
for everyday cooking. And what was that moment of inspiration for
you that it just clicked and you said okay I'm doing this.
Just really getting the reaction from people. You know, if you make people smile, what better
thing is in life is there than that? SO that's, you know, we accomplish that between our website,
our cookbooks, the show and we just carry on that and we love it.
And what is the one ingredient that you simply cannot live without? Or the one spice.
The one spice, I would say, that's a good question. We like fresh spices, you know,
the basil and parsley, cilantro but everybody has their favorites. I mean, it matters what
part of the country you are in, you know, if you're in the Hispanic market, if you're
in upstate New York. It's all going to vary, I think the most important ingredient in any
recipe is the TLC. If you care about it and you have your family recipes, that's really
what's going to make the difference. Just a dash of love.
Cooking from the heart. Excellent and ooh it's so good. Look at his
bracelet it so cute. Well you're watching Live It Up!, I'm Donna Drake and thank you
to Red Touch Media and thanks for being our guest.
Thank you.
