>> HENRY: Welcome back to cooking with Anne. Were here back with Anne Grimes of Anne's
Dumplings and no dumplings today, but dumplings are always good. Remember dumplings are good
for you, right Mrs. Anne?
>> ANNE: Right.
>> HENRY: Today we are going to cook something special. I see cheese, I see pepperoni, what
are we making?
>> ANNE: We are going to make microwave pepperoni and I have these little suns, and actually
it's just cheese with microwave pepperoni on top. And I smell my...that's it, it's done.
>> HENRY: Alright, they're coming out right...are these snacks?
>> ANNE: These are snacks.
>> HENRY: You are considering these snacks. What do you call them? Cheese and macaroni
snacks? Is this one named after anybody?
>> ANNE: This is the pepperoni. This is how we do the pepperoni alright? Whew, hot hot
hot. Take your glass dish, a couple of layers of paper towels and spread them out and put
paper towels on top and you see all the grease that comes out. We're going to say better
than bacon.
[laughter]
>> HENRY: How long did you cook your pepperoni?
>> ANNE: Three minutes. And depending on the thickness of the pepperoni it may be more
or less, you know just put a few in there and see how it works. But what I have here
in the thinnest shredded cheese with microwave pepperoni on top and I run it in the over
and were going to get these chips like this. Cheesy pepperoni.
>> HENRY: So you put it on the cheese and put it back in the oven. How long do you cook
it with cheese?
>> ANNE: Cook it until the cheese melts and runs out. It takes about six or seven minutes.
They are neat little snack crackers. And what we are going to do right here with the pepperoni
is I'm going to make a bagel and instead of having bacon and egg, were going to have pepperoni
and egg. Better than bacon. So I'm going to the stove. I'm going to scramble you an egg.
>> HENRY: And I tell you what it is again, we do these segments in the kitchen and I
know they look great but the problem is you can't smell the smells that we are in here
with and that makes it even that more enticing. Now this recipe is not in the cookbook.
>> ANNE: It is not in the cookbook. I talk about microwaving pepperoni but actually I
don't have a recipe for making a sandwich but this is you know pretty simple. I have
a little butter in the pan, a little scramble an egg. Most people can scramble an egg, even
kids today.
>> HENRY: I can even scramble an egg. [inaudible] There's nothing better than scrambling an
egg. Scrambling. Scrambling. Now let me guess, this egg came out of your chicken house?
>> ANNE: You're right.
>> HENRY: Mrs. Anne not only has dumplings in her back yard, the dumpling factory, she's
got a chicken house...oh look at that. That looks like a good scrambled egg right there.
[inaudible] Here comes the bagel out of the toaster. You know my favorite thing in the
world is breakfast food.
>> ANNE: I didn't know that.
>> HENRY: Yes ma'am.
>> ANNE: I'll live in your house. [laughter] I'm just kidding.
>> HENRY: My wife is soon going to learn how to do this. Actually, I'm going to learn how
to do this. Alright now you put it in the bagel chips on top of it, actually the pepperoni.
Now what happened to the cheese?
>> ANNE: Those are just snacks.
>> HENRY: Oh those are snacks? These are a different thing all together?
>> ANNE: This is like for breakfast. You can fix your pepperoni the night before. Just
scramble your eggs and make your toast and there you go.
>> HENRY: Can I have it?
>> ANNE: Can I have the other half?
>> HENRY: Yes. Let's go. Cheers.
[laughter]
>> HENRY: Oh man. It's good. That is unbelievably good.
>> ANNE: It's better than bacon.
>> HENRY: It is better than bacon.
>> ANNE: Better than bacon.
>> HENRY: Is that what you call it? Go to AnnesDumplings.com and learn how to make these.
I promise you will be glad you did. It is so good. Thank you Mrs. Anne.
