Hi everyone, I am finally able to do another water marble design
I have been waiting patiently for my nails to grow and finally they are all in the same length which is kind of rare if you have seen my videos
I usually have 1 good nail and the rest just kind of breaks randomly
Anyways I hope you like this design and let me know if you like it with or without the decals
If you want to see more water marble designs, please checkout my water marble playlist linked below for more ideas and inspirations
For the container, I am using a square glass holder today
it doesn't matter if it's round or square you will get the same result
You can also use paper cups
Fill it with room temperature Tab Water all the way to the top
if the quality of your tab water is questionable use filtered or bottled water instead and let that sit for a few minutes
To prepair the nail for water marbling, apply base coat and a layer of a white nail polish. This will make the colors more vibrant looking
allowing the water to warm up to room temperature 25C will give you more time to drag your designs on the surface of the water
the cooler the water, the faster the nail polish will dry
The colors I'm using today is a Dark blue, light blue, white and Turquoise
Thank you for those of you who have suggested this colour combination. If you have any color suggestions for my next water marble video, leave them in the comments below
When the water is ready, Have all your nail polish colors opened and ready to drip
Starting with the White, add drops of nail polish into the water closer to the surface and wait for that to spread
Then onto the next colour
Not all nail polish works for water marbling so if yours doesn't spread, try another colour
Is it not about which brand of nail polish works better, it is more about the consistency of the colour
The watery less opaque polishes has a better chance of working in most cases
Or if you see me use it in a video, then it probably works
So just continue to drip until you get a few rings of each color. or when you get to the center and there is no more room for more drops
Next grab the smallest dotting tool, or an orange stick, and start creating your patterns
Also have a nail wipe handy to wipe off the excess polish
Start with lines going from the center of the rings towards the top and anchor the polish to the side of the cup
wipe the tip, then another line going down the cup
next drag some zigzag lines across the cup. Do this a few times to create a pattern
when you're finished you should end up with something similar to this.
Now that you have your pattern, its time to decide where to dip your fingers in. I've made a little cutout from a cardboard that's roughly the same size as my nail
hover that over the water marble pattern to find a good print for the transfer
hold the nail in the water and slightly blow onto the surface to dry up the remaining nail polishes
then use a q-tip and remove the leftover patterns
Once the coast is clear, you can remove your finger from the water and there is your first pattern
To clean up, just dab some polish remover onto a nail wipe and remove the excess polish from around the fingers
I actually don't mind a bit of cleaning up. Some people prefer the tape method which I will show you next
To reduce clean up of the nail polishes, you can use sticky tape to help prevent getting too much nail polish onto your skin
Take a piece of tape and place it along the side of your finger and under the tip
then Wrap it around to the other side
Next take a second piece of tape and place it under the nail bed to join both sides of the first piece of tape
Now repeat steps to create a similar water marble pattern from before
Having a pattern map like this close by will help you to create the same patterns for all your nails
if you don't mind how the print turns out on your nails, you just like the color combo, then feel free to dip all your nails in at once to save on nail polish
I did each nail separately so I can create the same pattern on each of my nails
Sometimes when you drag the lines, the nail polish might move around with your stick
If this happened, you can either anchor the sides to prevent it from moving around or start dragging from a few rings in
the outer layers dry up faster because its been out for longer
Once you've found your spot, dip your finger in and clear away the excess polish from the water surface
Then Take your nail out. To remove the tape. Cut the section from under the tip of your nails and you will be able to peel off the whole thing with ease
you might have to clean up a little bit but most of it is prevented with the tape
Again use a nail wipe dipped in polish remover to get rid of the remaining polish around the cuticle
Here is what the whole set of nails look like, You can apply top coat and leave it as it is or add some decals to really make the design pop
Apply a clear coat as adhesive and place a 3mm or 4mm rhinestone in the center of the nail
Then place a slighter smaller rhinestone on either side of the first one
We want to create a line of rhinestones, following the curves of the water marble pattern
to create the gradual size difference, use a smaller glitter flake to extend the line towards the end of the nail
Depending on the pattern of your water marble print, you can place the lines of rhinestones accordingly
This way all your nails will look slightly different but still look like a matching set
For the ring finger I decided to go all out. You can keep it simple with the rhinestones or give this a try as an alternative
Place the 3d fimo flower on the top left corner of the nail, then add some different sized rhinestones and half pearls below it to match the remaining nails
When you're done, Finish with a good layer of top coat to secure all the decals in place. Make sure to get all around the fimo flower to hold it in place
But with something like this, you just have to be mindful not to pick on it or knock it really hard, or else it will come off
If it does just stick it back on with some more top coat
And if you're wondering, all of this will come off with nail polish remover so have fun being creative with your nail designs
