The exploration of Mars
provides young people going into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
with an infinite number of interesting problems and conundrums
that have to be solved
if we're going to colonize Mars. For example,
there are so many
problems in terms of
the biology
the fragility of the human being
that are going to have to be addressed.
And those are issues that we're not likely to address and learn about and resolve
unless we have
a challenge of that degree. The idea of
the colonization of Mars
is going to force us to address these,
And simply the
robotic exploration of Mars
these are other issues that we're unlikely to address
unless we have something
extreme like
planetary exploration
to tie these
engineering questions together.
