Now that you've created your comic book you're going to want to market it towards an audience.
For independent guys, the internet has become a valuable tool. There's many comic book based
websites and message boards out there that are strictly devoted to comic book creators.
You want to hit up those websites, make your presence known whether it's on the message
boards or submitting press releases. You want to get your name out there. I've seen a lot
the indie guys also do promotional items like stickers or bookmarks or pins. We do that
stuff but we also try to do more unique things with Koni Waves, things that will be more
eye catching, for our upcoming book Koni Waves Ghouls Gone Wild a lot of the action takes
place in a setting called Hukos Bar and Volcano Room. So we did place mats that look like
actual place mats from the bar, and not only did it look like a place mat but it gave you
information on the story, when it's coming out, how to get it, the website to check out
preview art of it. Another thing we did is for our upcoming book Evangeline versus Koni
Waves where our character Koni takes on Rob Livefeld's Falling Angel character is we did
a boxing style poster showing the two girls squared off, just to hype up like the main
event status of this book, to let readers know that this is something that they got
to see, they got to tune into. Just to like I said, make it eye catching, something that
people remember, and that's what indie creators have to do, they have to get their name out
there whether they're putting their title on pins or T-shirts or stickers, you want
to get your name out there, you want to be heard. You want people to remember your character.
