Hi. My name is Levi and I'm here to teach you how to be respectful around farm Animals.
If you want to know about farm animals, the best place to start is by studying and learning about them.
Look in a book. Search on the computer.Talk to farmers.
The more we know about the animals, the better we understand why to be safe and how to be safe.
When we learn about the animals and what they need, we can better understand how and why they behave the way they do.
Knowing this helps us want to behave respectfully around them.
Safety and behavior tip #1.
If you are visiting the farmer, it is important to not feed or pet the animals unless you have permission from the owner.
This is showing respect for the farmer because they are his animals and he knows what is best for them
and it is what is best for you and your safety too.
Safety and behavior tip #2.
If you are given permission, it is important to ask the farmer information about the his animals and how to be safe around them.
Ask him to show you how he behaves around them so that you can copy his good behavior.
He will know what's safe for you and what would be comfortable for the animal you visit.
Safety and behavior tip #3.
For those of you that want to get farm animals like me, study about the animal and create a plan.
I will be getting chickens soon. Now that I know how to behave around them and care for them, I feel more confident to be
near them because I understand what they need and I know how to be safe around them too.
That's a wrap folks. Remember, what you put in is what you get out. When you put in time
to learn about the animal, there is so much more you get out of your experience when you're around them.
More understanding, more confidence, and in my case....
More Eggs!!
