Speaking about couture, you may think to yourself 'when is couture going to ever, or is it ever
going to enter my life if I don't have twenty-five thousand dollars or one million dollars to
spend on a dress?' or 'I'm not somebody who's going to get loaned some sort of special dress
to walk down the red carpet.' Well, there are specific times or places when the idea
of couture may enter into your life and I think those moments might be far and few between,
but if they do happen they might be on your wedding day when you have a conceptual idea
of a dress and the dress is going to be, maybe the most expensive dress that you've ever
purchased in your life and your dress is going to be made per your specific style, per you
specific body type, and per your specific event. That would be, probably, the closest
thing to the average person walking around getting to couture. That would be the closest
step that you would make. Another way that you might get slightly close to the idea of
couture would be, if you were a guy, and you had a suit tailored to you. Although tailored
suits are specific design, they're not even in the same realm as ordering a twenty-five
thousand dollar gown that's being hand-beaded by fifteen men for ninety hours. It's not
even on the same scope. However, it's close to the basic premise of couture, meaning that
it's something that is specific for you and it's something that you need for a specific
occasion and it's something that fits your personality. However, there aren't really
a lot of ways that people can get close to couture without blending the lines on the
meaning of couture.
