[Guy1] "HAHAHA! The iPhone is the best gamers phone on the market!"
[Guy2] "Nothing could ever beat the iphone
it's AMAZING!" [laughing]
[Ninja] "WAIT! There is a new challenger! The Sony Xperia Play will school the iPhone in the art of gaming!"
[Guy2] "I will fight this Xperia Play to the death!"
[Ninja] "You wanna fight? Fight me!"
WoW! just take a look at this!
It's beaaaaaautiful! Soooo shiny!
That's right folks, at Phones 4u
we've managed to get our grubby little paws on the mythical
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.
It's real, it's coming to a Phones 4u store near you soon
but will it truly be the ultimate mobile phone for gamers? I got my hands on one of
the phones pre-installed launch games; Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior to see if it really lives
up to the hype. So sit back and relax because I'm just about to Enter the Dragon...
oh..wait, that sounded wrong!
Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior has already been released on other operating systems and it's recieved
rave reviews for its top notch graphics and it's cool, retro beat-em-up style, and the same can
definitely be set for the Xperia Play version .
The HD graphics are superb on the Xperia Play's 4inch LCD touchscreen, every detail on
the fighters looks crisp and sharp and the attention to detail on Bruce Lee's facial expressions
and trademark movements is amazing! It projects his personality perfectly so you really feel
like you're in control of the Jeet Kune Do master himself.
Add to this the superbly detailed settings in which you settle your scores and the smooth
annimations of the fighters and what you have is one of, if not the best-looking fighter
on any smartphone EVER!!
Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior has an impressive story mode which lets you challenge different
opponents to a bout of fisticuffs in five different locations around Hong Kong,
you can also take part in survival modes to see just how many muscle-bound mentalists
you can take down in a row,
and what crazy characters they are too! Check this guy out, lord knows why he's called
'Small Boy', he looks like a big man to me unless it's an ironic nickname I
suppose but...oh wait..I've gone off topic!
Each of these characters is unlockable but my favorite to play with was 'Chen-Low', a practioner
of drunken boxing, his moves seem to flow a lot better than the other characters, plus
they looked cooler too!
The Xperia Play's slide-out D-pad and dedicated gaming keys are an absolute blessing when it
comes to fighting games such as this. Without my thumb covering a huge portion of the screen
I could enjoy the action much more than before and the robust buttons felt solid and made
pulling off Brucies signature move so much easier than it would have been on a
touchscreen phone.
Bruce Lee: Dragon Warrior is a good game anyway, but playing it on this new handset
elevates it to Grand Master status.
Honestly if you're a serious gamer
mobile or otherwise, you would be a kung-foooool not to grab an Xperia Play once
They hit the stores...hahaha
hmmmmmmm....
This all reminds me of a joke I heard once: What's Bruce Lee's favourite drink? Wataaaaaar!
Oh yeah, I've still got it!
[Guy1] "Dude...
What the heck?"
[Guy2] ooooooohhh...my baaaaalls!!
