That will
be an exciting treat for Korean audiences. So many performances are here for just a fleeting time. I hear there's
another internationally acclaimed performance the viewers won't want to miss.
Yes the National Theater Live is in Korea for the first time with a very popular award
winning performance. The experience is a little bit different from
what you would expect from a play, but I think you'll enjoy it all the same.
Let's take a look.
Since its debut in 2007, the play version of Albert and his horse Joey melted the hearts
of 4 million of viewers worldwide. The award-winning play performed by the British
Royal National Theater features life-sized puppets made by South Africa's Handspring
Puppet Company.
But don't be surprised when you're met with a big screen instead of the props.
For the first time ever in Korea, the National Theater Live is showing "War Horse" as part
of their program to share their works with the world.
National Theater Live launched in 2009, and since then, has been to over 500 venues worldwide.
The play is broadcast live, every time, giving the viewer a front row seat, from anywhere
in the world.
That is a new way of watching plays. What is the reason for the National Theater Live
bringing broadcasts of the performance?
As you can imagine, a performance like "War Horse" would require a huge budget.
Transporting props and actors all over the world is too time consuming and quite expensive.
But the British Royal National Theater has some of the world's greatest performances,
so this is just one way they are able to share their works with the world.
And by broadcasting live, you get as close to the real experience as you can get.
