Hi, my name is Stacey, I am 43 years old. I have three children and one grandchild and I’m an IT consultant.
13 years ago I became an amputee. I was in a motorcycle rode and
in that 13 years I have had a several types of prostheses, most of that time a spent on a C-leg.
Most recently I received a Symbionic Leg.
I stumbled and fell quite a bit, in fact one, I had one fall were I actually fractured my shoulder.
Since the Symbionic Leg, I have not even had a stumble.
Before the Symbionic Leg, I spent a time with my mom who is my biggest observer.
Always making comments about how I would swing my leg to the side
and was that really necessary and that’s what I had to do to get around.
Since the Symbionic Leg, my mom immediately noticed that I’m walking in more fluent and more natural state.
Before the Symbionic Leg, I avoided ramps or incline and decline at all cost
and after a workout on the treadmill; I was realizing that I could do a ferly steep incline.
I was so excited when I left the gym I could not wait to get on
the phone to call my mom and let her know what I had done.
The things that I use to avoid in the past, I don’t avoid anymore.
Crowds, ramps, things in that nature I don’t, I’m out there.
I’m not in the background anymore.
I have put myself in the places that I have avoided before.
