How do you do, I am Walter Pfisterer of snap, and this is my Cube C1 produced by Arca Swiss.
The Cube offers an agreeable haptic feel, it is very tightly arranged
weighing only 1025 grams.
As a photographer I want to reach my aim quickly and safely.
The Cube came into the market in 2003.
Originally it had been conceived for big and heavy cameras meant for special purposes.
I was one of the first photographers to apply the Cube to miniature cameras.
For an average A4 brochure, a small picture has to be enlarged by the factor 10.
This means that 1 mm in the camera equates to 1 cm in the print-out.
On the basis of its interlocking gear wheels, the Cube provide me with the possibility of
adjusting my camera by a fraction of a millimeter.
The application is exact, secure and can be operated free of vibrations.
Since the setscrews of the Cube are self-locking, I will never have to readjust the camera.
It is of utmost importance that the different axes can be adjusted independently and one
after the other.
The Cube is equipped with two panorama heads: one basic panorama and one panorama head above
the rotating unit.
It is with a superb resistance that I can operate my panorama geads.
In exceptional circumstances, one might want to incline your camera. I can achieve this
with my Cube using both axes rotating through 30°.
Being a still lifer, it happens every now and then that I have to take a bid's eye view
of objects.
No problem with the Cube, the quick pan enables me to reach more than 60°, the remaining fine
adjustment gives me 90°.
I have accustomed myself to operate the Cube with both hands. However, this adjustment
is not only important for myself but also for my wife who takes wonderful / gorgeous
pictures of architecture.
For some indoors shots, it is indispensable to take pictures of the ceiling of a building.
With such a set of tools, taking pictures is simply great fun. We have been working
with this Cube for more than 10 years. It is reliable and faithful.
