Okay, now this method we're about to print is called discharge printing. Discharge printing
was made pretty popular back in the 80's, early 90's on the West coast as an alternative
to plastisol ink. It's primarily water based ink, with discharging agents. Meaning that
the color of ink that you use will basically bleach the shirt out, leaving virtually no
feel, absolutely no feel, and it will last forever. So, we have some white here, we're
going to put into the screen.
It does have a shelf life.
We're going to do a one color print on a girl shirt, it's pretty popular. Make sure we have
enough pressure to penetrate the garment.
Now as you can see it has a gray look to it. It doesn't look very opaque at all. As it
goes to the dryer, the discharging will happen. So, we'll pull it off the shirt, we'll set
it on the dryer. And as it comes through, you'll see the discharging affect take place.
As you can see the shirt came through, there's literally no feel at all, as it bleached through
the shirt. That is your basics of discharge burning, a simple one color on a black shirt,
that is dischargeable on Joseph. And that's your basics of doing a one color discharge
print.
