and the title is called Sister Moiré
firstly Moiré pattern which is this idea
like patterns that are super imposed on each other and since your
things that you are super imposing are kinda near
universe on this house that there is sort of this Moiré thing going on
and so the system of Moiré we're thinking of
as a sort of marker for ahh Barbara Hutton
and that kind of thing and also play on the I'm a sister ray the song
I'm around so there was a lot of different things like that
so we imagine it as a fictional movie
fictional book. so we created all things like fixed stills and
make book covers and things like that a lot of it was meeting
these mirrored rectilinear for
made these cactus crystal sculptures were made
the things are cast in rice were made in Kentucky
I think that was important to Matthew and Brook
in that this was a you know that are worked does
involve a lot of different industry in fabrication for
you know I think they were interested in hearing that
we were employing so many people to make all the stuff from
kentucky and ohio
from new york and
new jersey in all this that might work work and
commerace that was going for this. I think
he found that to be a very interesting aspect. the basic strategy was to sort of
mimicked the types of things that would be in here
and so it would have to be a very subtle thing like an intervention almost
so you know where they are normally art books around we put our own books and
where
there would be like commemorative China we put our own child
and the plants making there own kinds of sculptures
and crystals and cacti. it was sorta this idea
of not trying to like completely
bust apart the structure of the house, but sort of
play with it. so that we maintained the experience of the house
and just made it a little more surreal or psychedelic
