Hello YouTube, This is MrComboman77.
This time, it's gonna be about Pokemon, and this time
it's gonna actually HELP you guys. This is gonna be about breeding.
You know, the Masuda Method, and yeah, so this is gonna be called breeding help.
It's just gonna be stuff.
You guys probably know HOW to GET an egg.
But you guys are wondering for shininess, and inheriting abilities, and nature, and moves and stats, and whatever.
So, uhh, lets see..
Well, there is this guy. I forgot his name. Wait. He helped me to make this video.
He sent me the information.
Yeah, he was a pretty big help. His channel will probably be in the description below.
So lets start with breeding for shininess.
Now this is only going to be about generation 5.
No generation 4, 3, 2, whatever.
I might make a generation 4 video, but other than that, no.
So, in generation 5, what you need to do the Masuda Method is a Pokemon from another country
Or one that is not native to your country.
And they have to be of the same egg group.
You need a male and a female, or a Ditto.
You could have a Japanese Ditto and you would get a chance to get some shinies.
So you have a male from America. And you have a female from Japan.
Let's say the female is an Emboar, and the male is a Zoroark.
Now, they're in the same egg group.
So, if you breed them, there is a 1/1366 to get a shiny.
Now that's much higher chance than before. It was originally 1/8191 chance to get a shiny.
So, with the Masuda Method, it's easier to get shinies.
This method was revealed in generation 4.
But it works on the generation 5 games. It's pretty simple.
Inheriting abilities and Hidden Abilities.
Now, there needs to be two Pokemon.
The Female has to have the ability.
Males and genderless Pokemon cannot pass down abilities.
Keep that in mind
So, the female has the ability, and you have to breed it with a male of the same egg group.
No Dittos. No Dittos.
And yeah, that's pretty much it. There's a 60% chance that the female will pass the ability down.
And ONLY females can pass down abilities. So Tauros passing down doesn't work.
Inheriting natures.
Well, I'm just gonna do what it's like from Diamond Pearl Platinum, HeartGold Soulsilver, and then Black and White
For Diamond Pearl Platinum, it remains the same as in Emerald.
So give the female an everstone.
But, if you pair a female with a Ditto, the Ditto ALWAYS takes priority as the mother.
Basically, always give the everstone to the mother.
So, if you're breeding with a male and female, give the everstone to the female.
But if you're breeding with a Ditto, and any gender, give it to the Ditto.
Because the Ditto alwasy takes priority as the mother.
No matter what.
In HeartGold and SoulSilver, it's a bit diffrent.
It doesn't matter male or female, you have to give the everstone to the Pokemon you want to pass down the nature with.
Let's say we have a Charizard that's Bold.
And you want the Charmander to be bold.
So you give the everstone to the Charizard.
And there is a chance that the Charmander will also be bold.
But, in HeartGold and SoulSilver.
If you want to pass down natures, they both have to be from the same country.
But, in Black and White, it's pretty much the same as HeartGold and SoulSilver but you can pass down natures from Pokemon of any country
Passing down Moves.
So, the Pokemon in the egg, they have set moves.
First, in the egg, they have their Start moves.
And then the Pokemon learns a move that it can learn by leveling up, if both parents know that move.
This doesn't apply for moves it can learn in it's later stages, like how Shroomish can't learn Brelooms Mach Punch, for obvious reasons.
The Pokemon will start with any TM/HM that the baby and the father can learn.
Let's say the father, Feraligatr, knows Surf.
And Totodile can learn Surf too.
So, it's gonna learn Surf.
The Pokemon will learn any egg moves that the baby can learn and the father has already learned it.
Lets say we have a Male Arbok that knows Dark Pulse.
And we have a female Hydreigon.
The baby Deino might have Dark Pulse.
Now, lets say a baby egg has already learned 4 moves, and they want to learn a 5th. The first start move will be deleted.
Lets say we have Tackle, Growl, Surf, and Focus Blast.
And the baby wants to learn an egg move like Dark Pulse.
So that's 5 moves.
So Tackle will be deleted, and Dark Pulse will take it's place.
And when the next move comes along, Growl will be deleted.
And it keeps going like that in tell the egg is given to you.
I just made this video to help people out
If you didn't understand anything, I'll link you to a place where you might understand it.
