wanted to provide you with a quick update with regards to this impressive storm impacting
the region.
Overnight, steady rain moved northeast impacting the entire area around midnight. However,
as you can see from this current radar image, the steady rain has turned more showery in

Speaking of thunderstorms, we have already seen a few in Monterey County near Pacific
Grove and Carmel Valley as well as just off the coast. This activity is forecast to increase
into the afternoon hours. Pictured here is the Storm Prediction Centers last Day 1 outlook,
which indicates there is a threat for thunderstorms for the entire area through the rest of the
day.
Lastly, here is a quick glance at a few rainfall totals across the area. Many of the larger
cities in the area received generally between a half inch and an inch of rainfall since
midnight. However, some of the higher elevations received quite a bit more rain, with Mining
Ridge in Monterey County at 4.01 inches and Ben Lomond in Santa Cruz County at 2.28.”
