I chose Fisher because out of all of the schools I visited,
I felt the most welcomed here.
I love the campus; the facilities are state of the art.
Everyone I met was really friendly, really nice.
The faculty are really friendly, they really invest in the students and they make it really easy for you to get jobs.
I chose my major because I have always been interested in business,
I heard a lot about the accounting program.
I started as a Finance major,
And after taking a couple intro to accounting classes I decided that I would add Accounting as well.
Over 20 firms come on campus every fall for recruiting.
And you know it just really sets you up really nice to do whatever you like to do in the business world after you graduate.
I’ve been involved with a lot of activities here at Fisher,
For the past two years I’ve been on the Spring Event Committee.
Which helps plan and organize our big Spring concert.
This past fall I was on the student Orientation team helping incoming freshmen transfer from high school to college.
Probably my biggest commitment would be my role as Assistant of Financial Affairs on Student Government Association.
We help oversee the Student Activities Fee
Which gets budgeted to all SGA affiliated clubs and organizations on campus.
So it’s a great experience, definitely keeps you busy during your free time.
My favorite spot on campus would have to be the SLC the Student Life Center
I’m there all the time working out
They have great facilities.
At night, you can go and play pick up basketball there is always people there playing.
I’m involved in intramurals so we play all of our volleyball basketball games there.
It’s just a great place to go hang out.
I’ve had a ton of really great experiences here at Fisher, a lot of things I’ll take with me.
Probably my greatest experience,
I competed with a team from Fisher who went to compete in a tax challenge, We got a case study
and we were required to come up with a presentation, and present in front of partners from the firm,
Um competed against some of the top D1 schools in the country
Like Boston College, Bentley, Michigan State
And we wound up winning the competition and got to go compete in Nationals
And we finished top ten in the country out of 70 plus schools that competed
If I could have told myself that I would be standing in a room presenting in front of partners from one of the largest accounting firms in the world I would have thought I was crazy.
So, I’ll definitely take that with me.
