Welcome to the Swarovski Headquarters, located in the Austrian Alps in the town of Wattens,
just 15 minutes outside of Innsbruck. Daniel Swarovski started the company in 1895, over
115 years ago. Since then, Swarovski has grown to be the world's leading producer of
precision-cut crystal for fashion, jewelry, and more recently, lighting, architecture,
and interiors. Today the company is still family-owned and run by the fifth generation
family members.
Hi, I'm Nick Regine, the Professor of Crystal. Welcome to our episodes of Ask the Professor.
During these episodes, you will learn techniques used with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS and Create Your
Style. Also, we will be taking you to unique places around the world to shoot these episodes,
when you learn techniques about hotfix, gluing, soldering, and many, many other applications
that we use using SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS to Create Your Style.
I am fortunate to be visiting Crystal Worlds here in Wattens, Austria. This multimedia
crystal museum opened in 1995 as a celebration of Swarovski's universe of innovation and
inspiration. Crystal Worlds is a versatile, artistic interpretation of crystal, and the
result is a universe of discoveries and a simply unique experience with each visit.
Creating Your Style with SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. Every time I visit Crystal Worlds, I come
away with many inspirational ideas to help you Create Your Style.
The idea to produce this series of educational videos came about as the interest in using
SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS began to grow, as did the application possibilities. Unlike our traditional
workshops, this video series allows thousands of people all around the world to learn about
SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS and how to incorporate them into their designs in the comfort of
their own studio, office, or home.
It's interesting to look at the various SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS. I'm always amazed at all of the
innovative crystal products that are launched every year.
Throughout our episodes of Ask the Professor, we will teach you everything there is to know
about incorporating SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS into your designs. We will have guest stars and
co-hosts who will show you their passion, techniques, and many ideas so you can Create
Your own Style. Tune in; we look forward to teaching and inspiring you with every episode.
