Wanting a quick and easy way to decorate your home this Halloween? No
problem. Make your house spooky with this do-it-yourself glowing ghost
tutorial from 1000Bulbs.com.
For this tutorial, you will need the following materials: chicken wire or a
tomato cage for your base, an oversized sheet or fabric of your choice,
materials for the face, which can include black fabric, cardboard,
construction paper, or you can cut holes in the sheet, LED light strings,
or any Christmas light strings of your choice, with an extension cord, as
needed.
OK? Let's get started. Take the base of your ghost and place it anywhere
you'd like in the front yard. Tomato cages work perfectly because it can
easily stick into the ground, making it great for stability.
We are wrapping the light strings. Here, we are using wide angle LED
lightning light strings. These bulbs are virtually indestructible, so they
won't get ruined within rough weather situations. Wrap the light strings
around the frame. For best results, focus the bulbs around the head of your
ghost. This will give that eerie, ghostly glow. It's best to wrap the light
strings around the base with the lights on to see how the lights will show.
Once you have achieved your desired look, it's time to place your sheet.
After making the face onto your ghost, place the sheet over the wire base
and make any adjustments, as needed. Presto! You have a spooky ghost to
haunt the front yard this Halloween season.
LED wide angle lightning lights are perfect for this ghost. They are
available in a variety of colors, such as orange, purple and [clear] white.
Not only are these LED lights indestructible, they're also energy
efficient, so no more worrying about running up the electricity bill this
holiday season. Incandescent mini lights will also work for this
decoration. For more DIY ideas and holiday decorating supplies, visit
