So to format your drive for Final Cut you want to open Disk Utility
and so that actually lives in your
Utilities folder in your applications. So if you go down here
and look at here, it's actually called Disk Utility. So it'd be
right here. So you open that up and what you want to do is just find your drive.
For this one I'm going to format
this LaCie Drive. What you want to do is just click 'erase'
and then you have these options here for formatting, because in the past you had to use this Mac-
Mac OS Extended format but now you can use what's called 'exFAT'.
And exFAT is a format that works for both Windows and Mac computers. So what you
want do to change it to exFAT,
click on the top level of your drive,
So now you click 'erase',and it's going to erase the drive and then format it now as exFAT.
And so now you see we have a drive called LaCie and it's formatted with exFAT. And it will
show up in your
Finder here as the LaCie and now you're all ready to go with
Final Cut.
