We talk among faculty about our students.
We're very good at mentoring our students
from the time we teach them
that first course all the way
through graduation and their first job.
We have a meeting of the minds
and we work very hard together
to make sure they get the knowledge they need.
So students get to come in small groups here
and hang out with every day these leading
scholars, who are also wonderful teachers.
And in these small groups,
these small classrooms you build a real
community of students
and scholars all learning together.
The thing that I love the most
about the faculty here is there's
such an open door policy.
If you have questions about anything
or if you need help, they are so willing
to be there for you.
So there's a lot of one-on-one interaction.
They knew my name, they knew about my history,
they knew what I did what I was involved with
and actually cared.
We get really close with our professors,
and I think they're just...they're very
inspiring people.
They're just so friendly,
and we call them by their first names,
it just becomes very personal and I think,
I think that's really nice for us as students
to know that we can be comfortable
with our professors.
I have never come across a professor
that does not want
to help a student do good in the class.
Grand Valley has really helped me grow.
With the faculty that are here,
they do more than just teach,
they really are mentors.
I chose Grand Valley
because of the small class sizes,
the personal relationships
that I could create.
I always felt very welcomed
and always had my questions answered,
always got encouragement every step
of the way.
And I feel that the faculty
at Grand Valley has done nothing
but prepare me.
I love Grand Valley.
My wife, my best friend,
a professor that changed my life -
all of that came from Grand Valley.
