In heatlh news, a United States study demonstrates that apples lower cholesterol. Dr. Bahram
H. Arjmandi of the Department of Nutrition, Food and Exercise Sciences at Florida State
University discovered that women who ate dried apples everyday had an average of 23% drop
in their low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. In addition, substances associated with plaque
and inflammation of artery walls were reduced by about one-third in those women.
