Hi everyone, this is David Kemp with Oaktree products and today i'm going to teach you how to fit someone properly
for a Huggie Aid.
Huggie Aids are a retainer system for your behind-the-ear hearing aid
that prevents the device from being lost or damaged by holding it in place on your ear.
So, to start, i'm going to take a seat in the chair and i'm going to get fitted for one
Alright so what we're gonna do is we're gonna take a piece of string and wrap it around the ear
to measure the ear's circumference, so when the two points meet pinch it
and then pull away
to measure on a ruler.
Now stretch the string out
on a ruler
to measure the length
and one thing to keep in mind when you're measuring the string is to always round up a quarter inch,
especially with children since their ears are still growing, but anyway
now that I have the size of my Huggie Aids
it's time to attach the BTE.
Alright, so to start
we're gonna take our Huggie Aid
and we're gonna kinda create a top and a bottom
with the two loops that we have
and we're gonna take our hearing aid and slide the hook side
through the top loop
and then we're gonna slide
the second half of the hearing aid
through the other loop
like so
so that you get a tight, snug fit
alright, so now that we have gotten the hearing aid attached
the next thing we're gonna do is put it on, put the top with the hook, over the top of our ear
and just kinda squeeze our ear through the Huggie Aid, like so.
Alright so there you have it
a quick and accurate way to properly fit someone for a hearing aid.
Thanks for watching!
