Hello my name is Nycholas Weissberg
and I'm the developer of Elpis today decided to make a video
that's different from my previous ones this one is going to have some audio commentaries
hope you like it. Well as you can see I'm using an Xbox 360 controller
I just put into a laptop and ran the game
and the script responsible for the character movement
interprets the controller and run's it through
a multi-input function and if the controller is plugged in
it just ignores the keyboard
and accepts
now the controller you see I can move
around the character move the camera with the joy sticks
jump with the A button and run with
the right trigger the game was fully adapted
to best suit the controller
you see you can pound
the attack button and the attack animation won't skip
It will do the full animation
it doesn't matter how fast you push it
there's a lock on to the enemy
I'm pressing the left shoulder button
as you can see here
it's similar to the Legend of Zelda's Z-target
the attack again the swoosh from the attack
I apparently can't get up this wall
now you can see I just took off the controller
and it still works fine with the keyboard
all the range of movement is also available for the keyboard
the sky dome, I can't remember where I got it but
it's probably Martins Upitis
I hope I pronounced that right he makes some awesome GLSL shaders
I made some changes to the game
As you can see the z-target
now with a better resolution
when the character colides with an event area
a message is sent to an object that runs the cinematic script
and its responsible for changing
the players view and switching cameras
so you can read some things
this is all controlled again by
the cinematic script
and it waits for the player's input
and if the controller is plugged in the input is Y
and on the keyboard it's E
the cinematic script can even send an animation to the character
and to player
again some posses
new shirt model it's a bit ripped up
again the sky dome from Martins
I made a script that controls the light
based on the position on the altitude of the Sun
So gets dark and turns a bit orange
simulate twilight and dawn
the player now has an idle animation when he stands still
the controls are a lot more fluid
the interpolation between animations are much more fluid as well
guess that will be it
I really hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned for more
