This is the nikon D200 and I'm going to show you how to mount the camera safely to the
tripod
So you need the base plate for the tripod
This screws into the
mounting hole on the bottom of the camera
To do so make sure you've got the base plate round the right way, it has arrows on the bottom
that point towards where the lens is
So you want the base plate to be fitted
with the arrow pointing towards the lens
This gently screws into the bottom of the camera
There's no need to force it
it just gently screws in till it's finger tight
That's the camera ready to go on the tripod now
So once you've got the base plate mounted on the camera, you need to make sure that the tripod is set up correctly
The first thing you need to do is to make sure this locking pin
is in the unlocked position, on the right
you know that it's unlocked because it means you can release the catch
If that's locked
you'll find you can't move
this catch properly
So with the locking pin in the unlocked position
Take your camera
with the base plate mounted on
fit it into the front of the tripod
release the catch
so that it locks camera in position
That's camera steady in position but if you flick the locking pin down, it's completely
secure
and the camera is ready to use
To take the camera off the tripod
flick the locking pin to the right
hold the camera
disconnect the lever
and the camera comes off.
