Energy drinks have been a popular fixture in many convenience stores across the country.
But many people are unaware of the adverse health effects that are affecting people throughout
the nation. My name is Gerard Ryan and I work for Parker Waichman and I want to talk to
you about the many adverse health effects associated with energy drinks. Now, although
there’s no warning on the label, some of these energy drinks contain upwards of 7 times
the amount of caffeine found in normal soft drinks of the same size. These adverse health
effects have been associated with energy drinks involve insomnia, heart attack, high blood
pressure, and other effects that high amounts of caffeine can instill on the body. Now,
some of the numerous injuries that have been associated with this drink have been anything
from heart attacks to at least 4 deaths reported across the country. These deaths have prompted
an FDA investigation into the safety of energy drinks and whether or not they should be regulated
like most food and drugs in the industry. A California family has recently filed a wrongful
death lawsuit over the loss of their 14 year old daughter after she consumed 2 Monster
energy drinks in a period of 24 hours. Now while the daughter did have a condition that
weakened her blood vessels, the claimant is saying that the failure of Monster energy
drink to warn her about the dangers of these overloading of caffeine lead to her untimely
death. So why am I telling you about this and why do you need to know it? Well, here
at Parker Waichman, we answer questions about these energy drinks and other products on
a daily basis and we can help you with any legal questions that you have. So what I want
you to do is, if you think you’ve been experiencing the adverse effects of this highly caffeinated
drink is, I want you to pick up the phone and give us a call at 1-800-800-9797. My name
is Gerard Ryan and thank you for taking the time to watch this video.
