My name is Wouter Bouvijn.
Last year I graduated from RITS, a film school in Brussels (Belgium).
My short movie 'Crossroads', is nominated for the best foreign film on the Student Academy Awards.
You could say they are the Oscars for students.
Hey dad.
'Crossroads' tells the story of Maxim, a 25 year old man who has a problem
His father has a hereditary disease and the chance Maxim has the same disease is 50%.
The question in this film is; do I wanna know? And if so, what to do with it?
It is a psychological drama/love story of a young men looking for the meaning of life
You have to get yourself tested.
'Crossroads' is inspired by the story of a close friend of mine.
So there is a certain truth in the story except for the love story
The original story didn't let me go and I needed to make this movie about it.
It was an interesting case to use in a film.
Offcourse it is a dream to go to Los Angeles, Hollywood because everyone is connected to film over there. Being there with my film is amazing.
But I stay modest, I don't have any big expectations. It's a good motivation for a next film project. We shall see.
It's fifty fifty.
When I was 18 years old I went to RITS film school to study video editing.
But it was too technical for me and I changed to Audio visual assistant.
When I graduated I felt like I needed to do something extra and I studied for director.
and right away I felt this was something for me.
It was a long search during my studies at the film school RITS, but at the end all pieces fell together.
