Hey, our kitty cat sculpture is coming along and I'm am now coming back in and using dark
purple in order to help establish some of the pattern and I'm just going to let the
white, the lighter blues be the details. I could come back in and paint a million little
tiny spots on here but it wouldn't match the rest of the painting. They are suggested by
the sand paper surface itself. So, all I really need to do is establish the shapes of the
darker tones and let the lighter tones provide the detail. What happens is the human brain
wants closure. It doesn't need every detail. The brain will provide the detail itself.
If we provide the basic structure for it, the brain will fill in the gaps because it
wants it to be finished and that is one of the beauties of art. Let the brain and the
let the viewer finish the picture in their own mind.
