-One of the issues that we always talk about
with our clients when we're gauging their expectations
and desires in terms of their representation is negotiations.
And sometimes a client will come to us and say, negotiations,
I don't want to negotiate the case.
I'm not guilty.
I'm not taking any deals.
What I try to say that client is well,
let me at least speak to the prosecutor.
Let's go over the police reports.
Let's assess the risks.
And then we'll talk about whether to accept or reject
the offers.
We do resolve a lot of cases by way of negotiations.
But sometimes, cases can't be negotiated.
Sometimes the cases have to get tried.
And in my career as a criminal defense attorney, which
spans 17 years, I've tried over 60 jury trials.
So I have a lot of experience trying cases.
Of course, I like to make a good faith effort
to try to negotiate the cases to my client's satisfaction
before going to trial.
And I think that's my responsibility as an attorney.
But if I can't negotiate a satisfactory resolution
for my client, I will try their case.
And I will seek to obtain an acquittal,
either in front of a judge or jury.
I'm attorney Michael Becker of the Las Vegas Defense Group.
If you've been arrested in Las Vegas or anywhere
