Before I arrived in Austria I didn't know about the asylum system in Austria
I had no information.
When I saw the situation of Traiskirchen, it was shocking. There was a huge number of refugees:
1500-2000 refugees. In one room 20-25 people.
The situation is very bad. It is my personal view
that it is like prison because I have been in prison
in Pakistan and in Kashmir.
It is like prison.
People get information from each other but they don't know.
If I know a little thing everyone comes to me and asks me on the next steps.
And things are very very bad. I have experienced it because I was in Traiskirchen.
They do not treat us like a human being. No one knows when he will get an interview appointment
or when he will get the result: after one year?
after one month? after 5 years? after 6 years?
I saw people they wait 5 years and they did not do any kind of interview.
They just took fingerprints and nothing else.
When one single person arrives in Austria
he is mentally not well the very first day. He is very tired. He does not know anything.
You cannot imagine how difficult this journey is, if you come through Iran, Turkey, Greece,
Macedonia, Serbia, Hungary, and to here. It is too difficult to come here alive.
I come from Kashmir. I am not from Pakistan or India, not even Afghanistan
Afghanistan has a separate language.
They provided me the first time with an Afghani interpreter.
It is the very first day. The whole asylum procedure depends on your
first interview with the police. I don't know, she speaks a little bit Urdu
and most of the time she had a wrong pronunciation
I don't know because they explain in German.
They just need a little point and they give you a negative decision. But no one knows the logic behind it.
I tell people I am tired, I don't know, my mind is not working because I have suffered
4 months or 5 months on the way, in bad circumstances.
But they cannot imagine. They say but you are lying.
This is a factual story. This is a story. You do not have any kind of problem.
People, they can't trust us.
They say ok, we don't trust you. We don't have anything in our hand.
We cannot do anything. They send a negative and then again and again negative decision
And they deport you later
