Hi, everyone. Ange here. Day 24 of my juice adventure and I have a confession to make.
On the weekend, I went to Rottnest Island which is an island just off the coast of Perth,
for those of you that aren't from WA. And I went there because there was a major event
called the Rottnest Swim and I had a friend that was swimming in the Rottnest Swim. And
we went over there to celebrate his amazing accomplishment. The swim is a 19-kilometre
ocean swim and it's a pretty awesome achievement to be able to swim that, whether you're on
a team of four, duos or single.
00:41 AI: So I was at the pub with my friends having a great time. The atmosphere was unbelievable,
carnival-like and I decided that it was time, I don't even know really what ran through
my mind, but I had a Bulmers Cider. I had a few Bulmers Ciders. And I... After I had
a couple of pints, I got very hungry, a little bit light-headed because I haven't drank in
24 days and I had the fish and chips for lunch/dinner. So I actually felt quite fine. I didn't feel
bad from eating the fish and chips. It was one of the only options. There were no salad
options at the pub on that day.
01:32 AI: And I woke up the next day, did not have a hangover which was pretty amazing.
And I felt bad about breaking my commitment to myself for... To juice for 60 days. However,
I'm letting it go and forgiving myself for falling off the wagon. And I'm back on it
as of today, well as of yesterday, when I got home from the island. So I'm juicing.
I've just started to incorporate some raw foods in my diet from the suggestion of my
colon therapist, Sue, because my bowel really needed to get some fibre in there, which might
be a little bit too much information. But if you are seeking advice from anyone, whether
it's a doctor or you're using a naturopath or a colon therapist during your fast, you'd
certainly talk to them about what's going on for your body because with her suggestion
I've been incorporating those raw foods. It's been really good for me.
02:34 AI: Yeah. So, fell off the wagon this weekend. So day... That was two days ago,
so day 22, I fell off the wagon. But I'm back on it today and I think the important lesson
I've learned here is that if you do make a mistake or if you "fall off the wagon", forgive
yourself, move on from it, keep the main objective in your mind and juice on. So, it can really
apply to anything in life when you make a mistake, and forgiving yourself is a great
way of moving forward.
