Well, let me talk to the students now. My name is Breck Record. I’ve been a court
reporter for 28½ years. I love my job today as much as I did when I first got that letter
that said, “Congratulations. You have passed the CSR.” I’m very happy and blessed in
this career to be able to do what I get to do -- the things I’ve done, the people I’ve
seen. I’ve met the smartest, the dumbest, the nastiest, the funniest. I’ve met every
people that you can imagine in the profession -- and some good, some bad -- but my 10 little
fingers have done some things and done some amazing things that I’ve been very blessed
to do. And I wish that every one of you students that are coming up take the torch that we’re
gonna hand down to you and that you continue to push yourself to be better, to go for those
other certifications, to do what you can to keep the profession where it is, because people
before me put it there. So I want every one of you to strive to do your best to keep pressing
down – just keep pressing down on those keys -- and at some point, I want to see you
all in the field working along beside us and doing what you do best and continue to carry
that torch and to do your very best, and I look forward to all of that.
