As you prepare to become a Wolverine we would like to show you around our beautiful campus,
and introduce you to many of the resources that are available to students.
throughout this tour, Beau and I will be joined by other UVU students.
who will give you a glimpse into the buildings and programs that make up Utah Valley University
so join us as we take you on a quick virtual tour of your UVU.
This is the Browning Administration Building.
You might say that this is the command center of UVU.
It houses the presidential suite and graduation offices.
Behind me is 1stop. This is one of my favorite things about UVU.
Everything you need to get started as a student is down this hall
Financial aid, admissions, registration, tuition payments, and you can even get your parking permit here.
This is the Woodbury Business building, home of the Woodbury school of Business.
If your a business major, you will be spending a lot of your time here.
and if you didn't already know the business program recently had the distinction of being a credited by AACSB international
the largest and the most prestige a crediting body for business programs across the world.
less than 1/3 of the business programs in the United States and only about 15% of business programs in the world hold this accreditation.
UVU actually started out as a vocational school in 1941.
And while today UVU offers the variety of degrees you would expect from a university. We still offer many of the programs that our school was founded on.
From automotive, to construction management, to cabinet making, we offer many diplomas and certificates.
and degrees in our trade and technical programs.
currently i'm in the automotive technology area. Home of our own world land speed record holder, the el camino.
Our next stop is the Gunther Technology building. Found on the east side of campus.
Here you'll find a variety of programs including the theater department, arts and visual communication department.
music, cabinetry, and even architectural woodwork. Tucked away on the south end of the building is the black box theater.
a great place to grab a date and see an award winning play.
Drafting, digital media, robotics, animation, computer engineering, and so on.
if you live life hands on in emerging technology, there is something that will suite you here.
the school of technology and computing have designed their courses to give you the education and experience.
needed to enter todays job market. And the computer science building some would even say that technology is such a part of our programs.
that even the floor was designed to look like a circuit board.
Welcome to the Sorensen Student Center, named for one of UVU's most influential founders, Wilson W. Sorensen.
This building is packed with resources and activities for every student.
Here you can pick up your student ID, buy your books, catch a show, grab a bite to eat, use a computer
make copies, sign up for intramurals, mail a letter, play a round of pool, visit the wellness center, or just take a break from your busy schedule.
we recommend the ice cream at scoops.
If you haven't noticed yet, let me take a moment to point out that we never had to go outside during this tour.
almost all of our buildings are connect by walkways like this one. That keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
currently I'm in UVU's most famous hallway, the hall of flags.
Earth science, astronomy, biology, physics and chemistry, all classes you'll find in the Pope Science building.
and if you enjoy hands on learning you'll get your opportunity in one of the science programs many labs.
including a well equipped anatomy lab.
If your a student who enjoys a good workout then this is the place for you.
The PE building is equipped with workout rooms, a gym with two full basketball courts, 8 racquetball courts, and several dance studios.
it's a great place to work off some steam after class.
Right now we are in the main hallway of the Liberal Arts building.
as a UVU student there is a good chance that this is where you'll take most of your general education classes.
Upstairs you will find our free tutoring labs. Including the math lab and the peer tutoring lab.
Where they offer tutoring in everything, from accounting, to zoology.
The Mckay Events Center (currently UCCU Center) is home to UVU Division I athletics.
Now apart of the Great West Conference. Wolverine basketball, volleyball and wrestling, are all hosted here.
along with a variety of community events, speeches, commencement ceremonies, conferences, concerts,
and one of my favorites, dances.
As you may already know, one of the masters degrees you can get from UVU, is a masters of education.
Here in the education building, students work in cohorts or groups to learn the skills they need to become tomorrows most effective teachers.
If you've ever thought about being a teacher, rest assured, an education from UVU will prepare you for your career.
Whether you love to study or just read a good book our brand new one hundred and ninety thousand square foot library is a place for you.
with over two hundred thousand books, access to tens of thousand of journals, thirty five groups study rooms and both mac and pc computer labs.
library is also home to the writing center, in case you need some help with your writing skills.
and don't forget the library now has a cafe. I think i'll go get a sandwich.
Located between Park City and Heber City Utah. The Wasatch campus is one of UVU's greatest resources.
It's a beautiful campus with numerous services, small class sizes and excellent instructors.
students benefit from a quality educational experience while enjoying the beauty of living and going to school in the Wasatch Mountains.
