On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Paul Louis and today I am going to give you
musical theatre audition tips. Now if you go on any audition whether it is musical theater
or straight play, you are definitely going to need a head shot. Now there are a lot of
photographers in your area that specialize in theatrical head shots. You want to make
sure that you find the right photographer. Although you might be tempted in this day
and age and the wonders of modern technology, we have some great digital cameras that you,
family or friend may own; don’t have them take a picture for you. Go to a professional
photographer because you really need the eye of a professional photographer who specializes
in theatrical head shots. You definitely want to use a head shot that looks like you. You
definitely want to keep it updated so if your appearance changes from time to time, for
instance every now and then I grow a beard or I have long hair, I have different head
shots for different occasions in different parts of my life where I look like that but
you get a head shot. This is one of the head shots that actually need to be updated so
it is probably not a good example. However, they are in black and white and also you know
some people using color head shots lately and they are actually getting more full bodied;
not full body but basically from the waist up you will see a lot of head shots like that
lately. So definitely look into getting a good head shot for your next audition.
