SNM: We have heard you talking, and we're a little fascinated. Is there any botox to look for here?
DST: Yes, This can't be natural. It speaks for itself. SNM: So you think you're so handsome that it can't be for real?
SNM: That was very modest of you, Didrik.
SNM: It is not because of botox they are here of course. It's because Ole Edvard Antonsen's trumpet playing has previously been referred to as providing of the ultimate Christmas spirit.
Now he has teamed up with Didrik Solli-Tangen and "Sølvguttene" (Silver boys), and will go on tour. And of course the rehearsing is well taken care of.
While we sat together and watched this, we found a spot that perhaps could need a little botox.
OEA: Yeah, right. When my lip is tired, then it might have been nice to get a bit of help.
SNM: Yes, get the muscle to relax. OEA: Yes, exactly.
SNM: Christmas Tour. How did the two of you actually get to know each other?
OEA: We.. DST: On Match (dating page on internet) OEA: Yes, on Match...
OEA: We met each other ... the first time we met each other physically that was at "71 Grader Nord", where we spent 5 weeks together in tents and competed towards each other.
SNM: Then you become very well known. OEA: Yes, you do.
DST: The thing is that we were so happy, because we became known in the old way. No phone, internet and all that stuff. It was like ....
OEA: We had to talk. DST: Yes, that's right. OEA: We had to communicate the old fashioned way DST: Yes, the old way.
SNM: And then finally it resulted in the Christmas concert. What kind of concert will it be?
OEA: I have done Christmas concerts over the past four years, where I've had various people with me. The first time I heard Didrik was when he sang in the Norwegian final of Eurovision.
So, I thought at once that the voice and that man I wanted to work with sooner or later.
When we became acquainted on "71 Grader Nord", it was really natural to ask him after a while, because we felt that the chemistry fitted very well.
We have to fit together, in addition to that the music is good. And he's brilliant both as a classical singer and an all-round singer, so I think that this will be a very good match.
SNM: And you are just as happy? DST: I am very happy, and I find myself somehow, "Ole Edvard Antonsen!!" -
for my generation, we are not so aware of how big Ole Edvard Antonsen really is.
SNM: You are a bit too young, you know. DST: Yes, too young. So this is the "big time", so it will be fun.
SNM: We had Trine Rein here yesterday. She said that she and Lars Monsen were going to celebrate Christmas outside in a tent, in the wilderness.
OEA: Yes SNM: How do you celebrate Christmas? SNM: That's what I said too. It's fine with me, I said.
OEA: Trine took part in "71 Grader Nord", so .. SNM: So she has practiced a bit on the wild life.
OEA: That winter tent thing, I dont find that tempting. We had an overnight on a glacier, and it is the worst I have ever experienced.
DST: It was horrible. OEA: But it sounds nice. They're a couple, so it may ..
SNM: You've been practicing. OEA: We have, yes.
SNM: How is your Christmas celebration? OEA: It's so busy towards Christmas, and on Christmas Eve....
I tend to play a few concerts for the Salvation Army and the Cancer Society.
And it properly calms down on Christmas eve, when you sit down to dinner at 17:00, and listen to Sølvguttene getting you into the Christmas mood. Then it calms down.
Then it's Christmas at home with kids and family, and good friends.
SNM: But Sølvguttene is also supposed to go on tour with you. You could really just take some of them home on Christmas Eve.
OEA: Yeah, right. SNM: A live concert for dinner.
SNM: How will you celebrate Christmas, Didrik? DST: I go home to my mother and father, so it's home to the mother's ribs.
And it has always been like that, it is a tradition that is good to keep. And I've also had concerts.
This is the first time I'm on a Christmas tour, but I've had some concerts in previous years too,
And I have a traditional one where I sing with my former singing teacher and brother, in Eidanger Church.
SNM: I tend to listen to you, you know. DST: Yes, right, and then it's like Christmas, and then you come home to mama's ribs, and then it's Christmas...
SNM: Christmas Concerts are a great tradition here, but when we said on the broadcast yesterday that you were coming today, it turns out that there are more people interested in it.
We did in fact get a question from a Canadian fan of you two, who simply adores you, and wonders if there will be a CD of the concert you have now.
OEA: Maybe not directly from it, but it would be fun to do something together.
We will see what we sort out along the way. Now we will have the three weeks together musically as well.
DST: Let's test that out. It's something that will be exciting, and it will be great fun. We'll see what happens.
DST: Time will show. OEA: We omit nothing. SNM: No, you do not.
SNM: It gets hectic for you before Christmas, but I hope you will somehow slow down when the big day comes along.
OEA: Yes, in between Christmas and New Year, I'm certainly going down on my knees and play with the kids. And playing it is wonderful, you know.
SNM: It is important. But have a good time on tour before that. OEA: Thank you.
SNM: And there are many who will enjoy it too. SBS: I can promise that. I know these guys so well so I'm quite sure.
SNM: Yes, I happen to know them too. But have you been taking ..? SBS: I have not taken any botox since ......
