Ok, so now that we have the handle pinned on to the lower seam of the casing that we
made, I'm going to show you how to sew it on and then finish it off by pulling it up.
First, I want to point out to you that I changed my thread to blue on top, and it's still black
on bottom. I like to make sure that everything on the inside is going to be black. And, if
that's a little bit too complicated for you, like I said, it's not one of those major things
that matter. I just think that it looks nice and professional. Ok, so now this is where
we have it pinned and I'm just going to take my pin out and right here, where that lower
casing is, I'm just going to sew right on top of it and sew on top of the handle itself.
And make sure you back-stitch it because it's going to be carrying stuff, so. Pull it out,
and I like to trim the threads off when I get up to the outside part, make it nice and
even so it looks nice in there. And then, what I'm going to do, I'm just going to pull
it up, not real tight like this, just kind of real soft and easy, give it a little bit
of slack. And you can pin this if you want. I'm just going to hold it. And I'm just going
to sew right on top of the top seam of the casing that we made. There we go. And make
sure that you back-tack real good. Ok. Trim that off, trim this one off. And that's one
side put on, so let's go to the other side and do the same exact thing. Just put it right
underneath here. And the reason I like to sew it onto the casing part, is because it's
less seams on the inside. You don't see as many seams floating around. Ok. We trim these
threads off. There you go. And one more seam and then we're going to have this handle on.
Remember not to pull it too tight. Just let it have some slack. So you just don't want
it hard for the drawstring to be going past this. And remember don't sew on top of the
drawstrings because if you do, then your drawstring won't pull through the casing. That's another
reason why I like to sew right on top because you know that drawstring isn't going to be
where the seam is. There we go. Let me show you the inside of it now. So, that's where
we attached the handle, but it's right there where the casing seam is and you can't even
see it. So that looks really good. Let me pull it together and see what it looks like
with the strap. There, that looks just really cute. Ok. I think in the next step we're going
to start making the drawstring stops and then we're almost done.
