WELL BELOW YOUR MAX BUDGET OF $700,000.

WITH THE MOLD GONE FROM THE EN SUITE WALLS,
CONSTRUCTION ON THE BATHROOM CAN BEGIN.
SO WE'RE READY TO START WITH A CLEAN SLATE.
THIS IS GOING TO BE MY DREAM BATHROOM
WITH THE HEATED FLOORS AND THE JACUZZI TUB.
MY FAVORITE THING, THOUGH, IS THE LUXURY
OF THE IN-FLOOR ELECTRIC HEATING.
WE'RE GONNA COIL THIS ELECTRIC HEATED WIRE
THROUGH ALL OF THE SPACERS JUST LIKE THIS,
AND WHEN YOU STEP OUT OF THE SHOWER,
IT'S GONNA BE INVITING AND COMFORTABLE.
YOU'RE NEVER GONNA WANT TO LEAVE.
YOU'RE GONNA MAKE JULIE A VERY HAPPY WOMAN.
EVERYBODY LOVES IN-FLOOR HEATING,
AND IT DOES ADD VALUE TO YOUR HOME.
EVEN THOUGH IT SEEMS LIKE THE HEIGHT OF LUXURY,
ELECTRIC IN-FLOOR HEATING
IS QUITE INEXPENSIVE TO INSTALL AND OPERATE.
THE LEAK IN THE BASEMENT AND THE MOLD ISSUES
HAVE TAKEN A BITE
OUT OF STEPHEN AND JULIE'S RENO BUDGET.
THAT MEANS CUTTING CORNERS ON THE BEDROOM BEAMS.
I'M SCARED TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO
TO THOSE BEDROOM BEAMS SINCE WE DIDN'T HAVE THE BUDGET
TO DO WHAT WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED.
JULIE WANTED US TO SAND THE BEAMS DOWN BY HAND.
THAT WOULD BE INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE.
PAINTING THEM WASN'T AN OPTION, SO WE'VE DECIDED
TO SAVE OUR MONEY BY PURCHASING A LESS EXPENSIVE WOOD.
THE FINAL PRODUCT IS GONNA LOOK LIKE A MILLION BUCKS.
SEE, WE WENT WITH THE POPLAR,
BECAUSE THE FINISH STAINED LOOK IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE OAK.
IT'S GONNA LOOK REALLY NICE IN HERE.
I THINK SHE'S REALLY GONNA LOVE THIS.
JONATHAN GOT CREATIVE ABOUT SAVING MONEY ON THE BEAMS
WITHOUT SACRIFICING THE STYLE.
HE PLANS TO SAVE MORE MONEY WITH THE FIREPLACE
BY KEEPING THE SAME STONE
AND SIMPLY REPLACING THE MANTLE.

THERE'S BEEN ONE UNEXPECTED EXPENSE AFTER ANOTHER.

BUT THE PLAN TO REATTACH THE EXISTING FIREPLACE STONE
TO CUT COSTS DIDN'T WORK OUT.
SO I HAVE SCOURED THE CITY LOOKING FOR A DEAL ON TILES,
AND I GOT A GREAT PRICE ON THIS NATURAL STONE.
I DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE FIREPLACE,
SO I GAVE IT A FACE-LIFT.
ALL IT COST ME WAS A CAN OF SPRAY PAINT.
THE MASTER BEDROOM IS COMING TOGETHER.
BUT THERE'S A LOT OF WORK LEFT TO DO TO CREATE THE OASIS
THAT JULIE WANTED IN THE EN SUITE BATHROOM.
JULIE'S DREAM BATHROOM IS BECOMING A REALTY.
AND IN THE DINING ROOM,
NEW LAMINATE FLOORING IS BEING INSTALLED.
IT'S DURABLE ENOUGH FOR KIDS AND DOGS,
AND MORE COST-EFFECTIVE THAN HARDWOOD.
AND DOWNSTAIRS, THE NIGHTMARE OF THE LEAKY BASEMENT
IS FADING FAST.
THIS BASEMENT IS NOW DRY
BECAUSE WE'VE RAISED THE FOUNDATION WALL,
ADDED WATERPROOFING, REGRADED THE DRIVEWAY,
AND ADDED THESE NEW WINDOWS WELL ABOVE GROUND LEVEL
SO THIS HOME IS NOW SAFE FROM MOLD AND MOISTURE PROBLEMS
IN THE FUTURE.
I NEED TO GIVE YOU GUYS A PAT ON THE BACK,
'CAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTE TROOPERS.
