This is one of the first exhibits in this zoo. Right in the beginning of the recording,
I felt like I had recorded this type of animal a thousand times.
There was only one thing interesting about this recording, and truthfully had nothing
to do with the geese, but instead with that turkey that appears right behind them on the
other side of their fence.
Not sure the reason, but I had never seen one alive. I had seen plenty in the dinner
table, but never one face to face.
I felt a little strange at that moment, not sure if I should’ve said ‘hi’ that individual,
because I could’ve eaten a friend of his.
After briefly recording the geese I went to the side of the fence and tried to record
the turkey, but he decided to hide. I sat there waiting for an opportunity, he didn’t
come out.
But I really wanted to film it, so when I went behind his exhibit and tried again, but
the turkey hid once more. Now I started to suspect that he recognized me.
After seeing the other exhibits, I went back a third time for that turkey. This time I
knew I could not recording it for a long period, so I just took still photos.
After reflecting on this whole affair, I understood the key to filming that turkey laid with the
geese…
I am glad to have found its weakness, when I return to that zoo, I am sure to exploit
it for maximum exposure.
