Hi, I'm Pam on behalf of Expert Village and today I'm going to show you different art
projects for kids. Now here's a fun activity that you can make out of items that many households
already have. You want to take an old sock, make sure it's clean, but any old stock and
stuff it. Here I have felt. Felt works good because it's nice and soft but if you want
to use newspaper, anything that's soft, cotton balls, it really doesn't matter. You're making
this into a guinea pig. So you can make your guinea pig as fat or as skinny as you want
it. Then you want to let the kids decorate it. They can paint it, they can use markers,
anything that they want. Just paint him, make him colorful, it doesn't matter. Then what
you're going to do is take old dryer lint that I'm sure everyone has, you save it, and
you want to glue it on. Now a glue stick probably isn't the best thing to use, Elmer's glue
is probably what you want to go with. But you get it nice and sticky and you stick on
the lint for the fur or the fuzz or whatever you want to call it, just to make him nice
and soft. And if you put them on there while he's painted, the wet paint will help stick
too but you do want to leave a little bit of the color seeping through so that you can
see that the kids have decorated it. And then you take your two little eyes and attach them.
If the kids want to, they can surround him with shredded paper, hay, anything grass that
you have laying around and you have a fun little pet.
