Child education most often refers to the teaching of young children outside of the home environment.
Early childhood specifically refers to the ages of kids right before regular schooling
would start. Most often this is five years of age or younger, but for some it can refer
to children eight years of age or younger.
Child education is based on the belief that children learn best when they are able to
play and the younger they start the education process the better. The idea is that children
learn the most when they are able to incorporate play with learning, as this helps their natural
curiosities to develop and be satiated. This is why most pre-school systems incorporate
play, art, and games that have a social aspect to them.
People often mistake day care and child care. Many believe that these terms are referring
to the same things, but they are actually very different. Child care, when it is connected
to child education, is the process of teaching and working on development skills, while day
care, on the other hand, is not focused on the teaching of children, but rather the care
and minding of children while their parents are unavailable. Most often parents take their
children to day care because of their work or other daily distractions and responsibilities.Child
Education
When children are under the age of five they are much more impressionable than they are
once they start traditional schooling systems. Their early teachers and instructors will
have more of an effect on the rest of their schooling than any other teacher they might
come across. In these early years is when children start to develop their sense of self
and develop their sense of the world around them. This is why pre-schooling is so important
to childhood development.
With a strong educational foundation children are more likely to continue down a successful
path and have an easier time learning. This all begins when kids are allowed to explore
learning through play and discovery. Most often child education can be broken down in
five main areas of life. By incorporating learning and play into each of these sections
kids will experience a well rounded education that will feed them for a lifetime.
Child EducationThis education system is broken down into the acronym SPICE:
Social - Children need to be able to experience a social outlet. Through social interactions
they will start to develop connections with other individuals their age. This socialization
process will help them to learn how to share, connect, and cooperate; which will support
relationship for the rest of their lives. Physical - Kids need to be able to develop
their motor skills and this is most easily done through play activities where they are
able to express themselves physically. Play, exercise, and outdoor activities help this
process. Intellectual - By challenging a child's thought
process they are better able to make a connection to the greater world around them. Children
will learn on their own, it is natural, but when it is focused it is much stronger.
Creative - It is vital that children have time to express their creative side. This
can be done through art, play, or other activities. Emotional - Children need time to learn how
to express their emotional nature, including self awareness and confidence. Developing
these skills can help children for the rest of their lives. It helps them learn how to
control their feelings.
This is why it is so important that people take the time to find the right school for
their children's early education. A pre-school or other child education program can make
a huge impact on their development and create a healthy and happy child well into their
school age years.
