A century ago in Sumedang, on utterance of a regent governor named Prince Aria Suriaatmaja,
and by the creativity of two of his servants, Aki Sipan and his son, Sukriya, an art has been finally created.
Kuda Renggong, an art which horse is desired to dance, and becomes a vehicle for a child towards adulthood,
that the performer inherited with many knowledges, and spirituality.
At the moment, one of the performers experiencing restless.
Feel restless because of his longing to his teacher, to his period, and because of his great willing to make the horse can dance.
This is a story about an old man who really desire horses expert to dance.

The Kuda Renggong performance was held for the first time in the year of 1910
by The Regent Governor of Sumedang, The Prince Aria Suriaatmaja, when he held a circumcision for his grandson.
The tradition grows until today. And now, it's time for Aki Ali holds a circumcision for his grandson.

The special thing of Kuda Renggong is that horses are directed to dance.
Usually, the horse is ordered to pull the carriage, to jump, to run.

It is happened like that everywhere in the whole world.
So, it's normal when horses are ordered to pull carriage, to race, to jump, because those all are their job
But people here in Sumedang, those kind of horses are directed to dance instead.
So it's some kind of out of its nature. How come horses dance?
It's like a duck that is directed to crow like a chicken
It is unique that the horse is directed to dance. Actually, "Renggong" is a song name.

But, the name of "Kuda Renggong" has a connotation with the word "Ronggeng"
"Ronggeng" means an idolized female dancer.
So, Kuda Renggong means the horse which able to dance, which is idolized, and able to attract every audience.
From many of bibliographies, Kuda Renggong was found in 1910 by Aki Sipan in Buah Dua, Sumedang

Aki Sipan was a horse-related inner servant for the regent government in Sumedang.
He has a son named Aki Sukriya who afterward develops the instruction technique for Kuda Renggong
Unfortunately, he doesn’t have any son. Nevertheless he is lucky for having many students.
Nonetheless, Aki Ali is his dearest student
